The Department of Marathi has been part of the college since its founding in 1967, introducing students to the depth of Marathi literature — from medieval Bhakti poetry to contemporary fiction, poetry and drama.
Alongside the prescribed syllabus, faculty encourage close reading, creative writing and public speaking, and the department runs a regular literary circle where students present their own work.
